How Ownership and Operations Work
Latino Spirit Media uses a governance structure designed to protect intellectual property while supporting public-benefit operations through nonprofit implementation.
1) Corporate Ownership (Latino Spirit Media)
Latino Spirit Media develops and owns intellectual property including:
Brand identities and trademarks
- Platform architecture and operating models
- Digital infrastructure and media systems
- Design standards and content frameworks
2) Nonprofit Operation (USLAI)
United States Latino Affairs Initiatives (USLAI) is an independent nonprofit organization that may:
Operate certain platforms under license
- Apply for and administer eligible public funding, grants, and donations
- Deliver public-benefit programs with governance, compliance, and reporting
3) Licensed Use of Platforms
Certain platforms are licensed for nonprofit operation to ensure continuity, accountability, and public service delivery while protecting platform ownership and integrity.
4) Services Between Entities (when needed)
When USLAI requires media production, technology support, or professional services, Latino Spirit Media may provide such services under written agreements, consistent with applicable laws and organizational policies.
Latino Spirit Media and United States Latino Affairs Initiatives are separate organizations.
Latino Spirit Media is a private media and intellectual property company. USLAI is an independent nonprofit organization. References to platforms “operated under license” describe an intellectual property and operational relationship and do not imply ownership transfer.
